Miss Polly Had a Dolly (Let's Read Together)

One of a series of familiar stories intended to encourage children to learn to read. Based on the rhyme "Miss Polly had a Dolly" this book displays the main rhyme on each left-hand page as the text for the adult to read and on the right hand page there are key words for the child to read. It is designed for parental support and gives strong motivation to the child because of the use of familiar rhyme. It is tied in with National Curriculum reading targets, which highlight the value of nursery rhymes and traditional stories in helping children to learn to read.
