- Elizabeth young
Brian is very much a real boy, but he does not feel so important. His classmates are chosen for kickball, invited to birthday parties and even asked to share during Choosing Time. Brian is ignored, neglected and sometimes forgotten. But Brian has a talent, and a creative imagination that helps him escape. He loves to draw dragons, tall buildings, superheroes and pirates. One day a new student, Justin, arrives in Brian's class. Justin uses chopsticks to eat bulgogi at lunch—to the dismay of his new, and audibly disturbed, classmates. The very next day Justin discovers a message in his cubby. You guessed it! It was from Brian, complete with a drawing of himself saying he thought he bulgogi looked yummy.
