Part of the "Step Into Reading" series, this story is about a little dog who wanted to be seen as a big dog. Twinky the dog is cute and mischievous, but never gets the chance to have the experiences the bigger dogs in his neighborhood have because his owner insists on carrying him around in her purse and putting him in silly sweaters. One day Twinky manages to escape his house and runs to the dog park in hopes of getting the big dogs to take him seriously. Although they consider him "dinky," they agree to teach him big dog moves, and their instruction comes in handy one stormy night when a robber comes to his owner's house. Twinky is able to put his new abilities to the test.
