Essays: Patterns and Perspectives is an anthology of forty-five essays by Canadian, American, and International writers. It is designed for English students in grades 11 and 12. Its unique features include student-written essays and tips and a three-part format. "Patterns" allows students to identify the general characteristics associated with four essay patterns. "Perspectives" presents a variety of essay types for teachers and students to choose from . "Resources" provides a concise, quick-reference section of guides, tips, and checklists. Activities are also suggested to help students explore their own writers' voices.
